On November 25, 2025\u2014marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women<\/a>\u2014and as part of the global \u201c16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV)\u201d Campaign<\/a>, Nextep<\/a> Organization, Synergy<\/a> Association for Victims, Nextory<\/a> Platform, the Network of Statelessness Victims in al-Hasakah (NSVH)<\/a>, and the Missing Persons\u2019 Families Platform in North and East Syria (MPFP-NES)<\/a> jointly launched \u201cYou\u2019re Not Alone<\/strong>\u201d Campaign.<\/p>\n

The campaign aimed to highlight the various forms of violence directed against women in Syria, particularly digital violence<\/a>, while raising awareness about its impact on women\u2019s lives and the urgent need to develop laws and mechanisms that ensure their protection.<\/p>\n

The campaign featured a variety of media content, including an in-depth report on digital violence against women in Syria<\/a>, highlighting survivors\u2019 experiences and the weaknesses of the current legal frameworks. Five infographic series were also developed, covering definitions of various forms of violence<\/a>, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW<\/a>), the concept of gender-based violence<\/a>, and practical mechanisms for coping with trauma following exposure to violence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition, four video<\/a> materials were produced to introduce different forms of violence and highlight the objectives of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.<\/p>\n

Alongside the media content, an introductory training on CEDAW<\/a> was conducted for a group of young women and men in Qamishli, aimed at enhancing their understanding of gender concepts and providing an overview of the convention\u2019s history and Syria\u2019s stance toward it.<\/p>\n

Moreover, an online dialogue session was organized, in the presence of 16 persons from various cities across Northeast Syria. The session explored the issue of violence against women, the factors that contribute to its persistence, and measures to mitigate it by strengthening the role of the media, empowering civil society, and advancing local legislation.<\/p>\n

The \u201cYou\u2019re Not Alone\u201d Campaign reaffirms that confronting violence against women is a collective responsibility, and that empowering women begins with recognizing every form of violence, amplifying the voices of survivors, and committing to continuous action to create a safer and more just environment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We, the organizations\\bodies participating in the campaign, believe that genuine change becomes possible when individuals, civil society initiatives, media institutions, and decision-makers work together. As we conclude this campaign, our commitment to combating violence against women remains steadfast. Through our long-term programs addressing gender-based violence and supporting survivors, we will continue to advance this mission. We call on media outlets, civil society organizations, and policymakers to join efforts transforming this commitment into effective policies, legislation, and response mechanisms that protect women from all forms of violence\u2014especially digital violence.<\/p>\n
